Meet me @ Quack's: Heather O'Connor, Managing Director

What is your role at Quack's?

I am the managing director for Quack's 43rd St Bakery and The Cakery at Quack's. I oversee the entire business and check in with all of the heads of department to make sure things are running smoothly. I work toward Quack's future growth and ensure that the Quack's organization and its people are upholding the values and mission statement that we have had since 1983!

How long have you been with the company?

I have been with Quack's since early 2012. I started as the front of house assistant manager. I worked 5 days a week in the mornings as a barista and customer service expert during that time. I have been the Managing Director of Quacks since April 2015 when we opened The Cakery at Quack's. It's been an exciting few years.

What's Your favorite part about working here?

The people. The customers and my staff. We would not be where we are now with out either one of these groups of people. Customer service does not just apply to the people who walk in the front door. My customer service extends to the people who work here to.

Any hobbies outside of work?

In November of 2015 I started doing Cross- Fit at Fortitude Fitness on the east side with a very good friend that I met when I was working here at Quack's! It is challenging and something I never thought that I would be able to do. It is the best stress relief imaginable. It has also given me an esteem boost that I didn't know I needed! I don't always get to go when I want because working at Quack's has its own time challenges, but I go as often as time and my body lets me!

I really do enjoy the work I do. So to me, working for Quack's is fun. I also enjoy the physical aspect of Cross Fit. My friends and I like to check out new restaurants that pop up and new bars that open. I am not going to lie,I nice quiet day at Red Bud with my pups is one of the best ways to spend a day off!

Are you a dog person or a cat person?

Dogs. I have an ancient, toothless, diabetic cat whom I love dearly....but yeah, I am a dog person.
